1. What should I bring with me for a charter trip?
Capt. Tris: Bring your food and drinks iced down in small coolers - no glass bottles. Don't forget the camera, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, towels and rain gear. Boat shoes or sneakers - please no black soles
We provide state of the art rods and reels, tackle, bait, ice, fishing license, fish cleaning and very friendly and professional personnel.
2. How far out do we go?
Capt. Tris: Our typical full day trip will take us from 10 to 18 miles off shore.
Specialized trips for swordfish or tuna take us farther from the dock.
Feel free to ask us about these before you book your trip.
3. What type of bait do you use?
Capt. Tris: We often troll ballyhoo in the deep waters offshore or when conditions are right, we "slow" troll or "pitch bait" live sardines or greenies for exciting hookups closer to the boat.
4. What type of fish do we catch?
Capt. Tris: This is a seasonal issue. At various times throughout the year we catch dolphin, cobia, wahoo, kingfish, baracuda, bonita, sailfish, and the occasional marlin. You have the option to target any of these species, but in most cases a good day on the water is a result of an all around effort to experience "lot's of action" and take what the ocean has to offer.
5. What do we do with the fish after catching them?
Capt. Tris: Many of the fish we catch each day make for delicious dinner fare. We will be glad to clean your fish at the dock following our return from another fabulous day on the ocean. Take it home to eat or take advantage of some of the local restaurants in the area that will prepare your catch for you. Ask us for info on the best places to go!
6. Is there a tipping policy?
Capt Tris: The first mate will work hard to make sure that you have a great experince and every opportunity
to catch "the big one"!
His hooks are sharp, he baits swim true and his gaff shots are always on target.
Please recognize all his efforts. It is customary to tip the mate 15% to 20%
